Those adults who suffer from hunger tend to be less productive, live miserably, and have shorter lives. The pangs of hunger can be terrible enough for adults, but what more in families where young children are involved? With hunger comes malnourishment, and we know that malnourished kids are susceptible to diseases, perform worse academically, and face stunted growth. And how many children are going to bed every night on an empty stomach?
The truth is, hunger is a real and pressing concern that we cannot just stand idly and do nothing in the midst of millions who are suffering.
GlobalOceansActionSummit is an organization that aims to address food insecurity and hunger across the globe. We seek to elevate the importance of ending the hunger crisis both in the country and the rest of the world and encourage the actions and steps needed to promote human dignity.
As part of our endeavor to advocate the end of hunger, we work to gather food from homes and establishments that would otherwise be thrown away. We organize and support food drives to provide meals and alleviate hunger to families as well as help fill the shelves of the food banks in different communities.
While our food drives can be of great help for the disadvantaged, we know that these are but temporary solutions. We also believe that the face of hunger will not be solved unless the root cause of the problem is addressed. That said, we hope to bring a voice to the hunger movement and go beyond by promoting social justice, access to quality education, and employment.
